Welcome to Crack Valley

We took a journey the other day to Crack Valley. Shale rock line the walls all around and a large pond sits in the northeast corner next to a sunken area in which a sycamore tree has sprouted. Water is constantly dribbling out of the sides of the cracked shale in places along the ledges. The shale rock is ripe for tumbling down from 15-20 feet up. This causes a little trepidation in a parent who has been far removed from such creative ramblings for quite some time. Yet to hear the glee in their voices as they unleashed the avalanche of rocks with their feet also brought back some old memories of adventure. Ah the fun of it all!

you forgot to mention that it is a walk away from our house. Not far from our mail box. ;)

I, even though a few years removed from you, did have those similar feelings of trepidation spoken of even while I just read about the excitement of your children!
