We had 16 ducklings shipped to our house a while ago and I forgot to post their adorable picture. They are fun to take around to the pill bug stashes under logs and see them gobble them up. Can you say free food? =)
(Not Tali) these will make free food. We decided that yes, we could eat duck eggs... even given their greenish cast. They are HUGE and this breed lay more than the best laying leghorn chickens- a lot more, and a LOT longer, years-wise. They are much bigger than this now. They are less destructive on the yard and garden, easier to fence with shorter, cheaper methods. WE think they are funner than chickens, but we like both...they definitely eat less unfree food. And seem to eat more bugs than our old (meat) ducks did- and bugs were their specialty. They know Brina is mother.
what kind are these? My husband wants to be more self-sufficient and my in-laws were wanting some egg layers . . . they were asking about the Lakeside chickens.
